The mission of GEOFO is to predict and analyse the influence of global economy on developing and small countries, exchange experience about concrete consequences of globalisation among the states in the region, and to develop feasible proposals for the management of the consequences involved.

• education of the public about the importance of geoeconomics and the need of coping with the consequences of the economic globalisation in Croatia and South East Europe
• research of key elements necessary for the geoeconomically oriented policy of Croatia in its relations with the World
• research of the influence of economic globalisation on the accomplishment of national goals, and economic and social stability of the society
• studying the ways of running geoeconomic policies within region
• promotion of the establishment of the policy and relations in South East Europe based on geoeconomic principles
• stimulation of studying the model of the Croatian economic system, and the impact of liberalization and privatisation on social security, equity, democracy and human rights in Croatia
• research of the experiences of small countries in large integration blocks
