International business and trade are highly dependent on the state of international relations

Jasna Plevnik said that Roberto Azevêdu, former Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), is a new member of the council of the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA) in the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong zone, and that this well-known name speaks of the strength of the zone's internationalization.

She spoke about the influence of geopolitics on relations between Croatia and China stressing,

“When it comes to the further development of cooperation between Croatia and China, it is significant how the political relations between China and the European Union will develop, of which Croatia is a member and is obliged to follow its standards and rules.

As you all know, international business and trade are highly dependent on the state of international relations. Current difficulties in the global economy mostly come from geopolitics, for which macroeconomics has no effective measures. We are already in a period of strong geopolitical tensions and unpredictability. The EU and the US make protectionist decisions and laws that slow down economic globalization, cause pressure to transform supply chains and change the European direction of energy supply, which harms China, American and European business.Free trade ideology is under pressure of security issues.

If we look at Qianhai in the context of international relations, then we can see that this zone follows the principles  that  have strength  to improve economic  globalization through  favorable tax policies, openness to investment, innovations,  proactive foreign cooperation and giving comprehensive supports to young people to develop their talents.

China's global role has been conceived and managed in line with the idea of more equal globalization and based on its multilateral global initiatives like the BRI, the GSI, the GDI, and the GCI, and multilateral institution like AIIB. all based on “shared development” philosophy."
